Nico Collins Ranked No. 8 Among NFL Wide Receivers in ESPN Survey of Executives, Coaches and Scouts

Houston Texans star Nico Collins remains firmly among the NFL's elite receivers.

In ESPN's annual survey of more than 70 NFL executives, coaches, and scouts, Collins was voted the No. 8 wide receiver in football, matching his ranking from a year ago. His highest individual vote was No. 3, while his lowest was unranked, reflecting the respect he has earned around the league.

One NFL personnel executive described Collins as the prototype for a modern No. 1 receiver.

"Combination of size, strength and speed, route running, hands and ball skills. Can make plays when contested and is physical after the catch."

Elite production continues

Collins' explosive playmaking remains one of the defining traits of his game. According to ESPN, roughly 25% of his receptions went for 20 or more yards last season, while he tied for second in the NFL with five receptions of at least 40 yards.

He also recorded his third consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season, tying the longest streak in Texans franchise history.

One of the league's most complete outside receivers

Beyond the big plays, Collins continues to be one of the NFL's most reliable pass catchers.

ESPN noted that the Texans receiver has averaged 15.0 yards per reception over his five-year career while posting a 1.7% drop rate (two drops on 119 targets) last season, the seventh-lowest among receivers with at least 100 targets.

The combination of size, physicality, downfield ability and dependable hands has helped establish Collins as one of the NFL's premier outside receivers.

Texans stacking elite talent

Collins' placement adds to a growing list of Texans receiving national recognition in ESPN's annual positional rankings. Derek Stingley Jr., Will Anderson Jr., Danielle Hunter and Azeez Al-Shaair have all earned top-10 honors at their respective positions, underscoring the talent assembled on Houston's roster entering the 2026 season.
