Texans TE Brevin Jordan Suffers Another Leg Injury in Practice, Severity Unknown

Houston Texans tight end Brevin Jordan’s comeback story has hit another heartbreaking setback.
Jordan, a former fifth-round pick out of Miami in the 2021 NFL Draft, is known for his elite speed at the position and knack for making timely plays throughout his early career in Houston. His journey has already included significant adversity — he tore his ACL last season in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts, an injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the year.
After a grueling rehab, Jordan returned to the field this preseason and looked sharp in Saturday’s game. He notched a couple of catches, showed improvement as a blocker, and appeared poised to take on an expanded role in 2025 alongside Dalton Schultz, rookie Cade Stover, Irv Smith Jr., and Luke Lachey.
That optimism took a devastating turn during practice today. According to multiple Texans beat reporters, Jordan went up for a touchdown pass on a seam route in the end zone and landed awkwardly on his leg. The mood shifted instantly — reporters described the scene as emotional, with comparisons to the somber reaction when C.J. Gardner-Johnson went down earlier this offseason.
Jordan was unable to put weight on his leg, prompting the cart to be brought out. Audible shouts of “NO!” could be heard as trainers tended to him, underscoring the gut-punch nature of the moment. Teammates and coaches — many of whom have praised Jordan as one of the most respected and well-liked players in the locker room — watched on in silence.
The potential impact is twofold: on the field, Jordan was slated to be a key contributor in an offense that often features multiple tight ends. Off the field, his leadership, work ethic, and positive presence have been invaluable to the team’s culture. Depending on the severity, this could be a major blow to the position group and the Texans’ locker room as a whole.
As of now, the team has not provided an official update on the extent of the injury.
