A Memorable Texans Watch Party: Gratitude, Community, and a Special Surprise

This past Saturday, the Houston Texans online community came together for an unforgettable event at Tejas Brewery to watch the Texans take on the Chiefs. Hosted by myself (Houston Stressans), Tomorrow's Retro, Ruben AKA Mr. 713, Harley Dugan from The LeadHou, and A.D. from The H-Town Rundown, the watch party turned out to be far more than any of us could have imagined.
Despite the Texans' tough loss, the day was filled with positivity, camaraderie, and gratitude. Over 200 fans from our incredible online community showed up in person, exceeding all our expectations. It was amazing to meet so many of you, put faces to names, and bond over our shared love for the Texans. Meanwhile, our livestream brought in over 8,000 viewers, bringing even more of the Texans faithful together virtually.
Giving Back to Houston Families
One of the event's highlights was our partnership with Toys for Tots. Thanks to your generosity, we collected an incredible number of toys to donate to local families in need. The outpouring of support from the Texans community is a testament to how special this fanbase truly is.
A Special Appearance by Azeez Al-Shaair
The biggest surprise of the day? Houston Texans starting middle linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair made a surprise appearance, spending the entire game with fans, chatting, taking photos, and reinforcing why Texans fans hold him in such high regard.
Azeez’s attendance was particularly meaningful given the recent controversy surrounding his suspension. As fans, we’ve been vocal about how unfair and unjust his three-game suspension felt, stemming from incidents that were blown out of proportion and a hit many believe was undeserving of such harsh punishment. Throughout this process, Azeez’s character and even his faith have been publicly attacked—unjustly so.
Anyone who truly follows the Texans knows that Azeez is a high-character player and an even better human being. His decision to show up at our watch party, interact with fans, and even contribute a generous number of toys to our drive wasn’t about publicity. It was about showing gratitude to the community that has supported him through thick and thin. During a conversation with me, Azeez said he came because he appreciated how fans like us have had his back throughout this ordeal.

His presence reaffirmed what we already knew: Azeez Al-Shaair is a leader on and off the field, and his commitment to the Texans and their fans goes beyond football.
Community, Connection, and Gratitude
From the incredible turnout and generous toy donations to the surprise appearance by Azeez, Saturday’s watch party was a day to remember. The food and beer at Tejas Brewery were fantastic, but what truly stood out was the sense of community. This event wasn’t just about football—it was about bringing people together, creating connections, and showing what it means to be part of the Texans family.
To everyone who came out, participated in the livestream, donated toys, or simply cheered from home—thank you. Your support made this event a success, and it’s a reminder of why the Texans fanbase is one of the best in the league.
Here’s to more gatherings, more connections, and more moments that remind us what being a Texans fan is all about. As always, WE BLESSAN 🙏.
