Texans Jersey Number Updates: College Roots & a Potential “713” Connection

The Houston Texans have rolled out a fresh set of jersey number updates as the roster continues to take shape this offseason.
And this time, there’s a clear theme — multiple players are going back to what they know best.
Kamari Lassiter (No. 3), Woody Marks (No. 4), and Cade Stover (No. 8) are all returning to their college numbers. For young players especially, those numbers often carry familiarity and confidence, making the transition at the NFL level just a bit more comfortable.
Lassiter’s switch to No. 3 also adds an interesting layer for Texans fans.
With Tank Dell expected to move to No. 1, it would create a “713” trio alongside C.J. Stroud (7), Tank (1), and Lassiter (3). It’s a clean connection to Houston’s area code — and one that already feels like it could catch on quickly across the fanbase.
The rest of the number updates help round out the roster:
Reed Blankenship – No. 6
Ja’Marcus Ingram – No. 20
Brandon Codrington – No. 30
David Montgomery – No. 32
While some of these changes are routine, the return to college numbers stands out as a trend — and a small detail that reflects players settling into their roles in Houston.
And if the 713 combo becomes official, be on the lookout for some new merch.
