Texans’ Joe Mixon Ruled Out, Will Miss At Least Four Games

The Houston Texans announced that running back Joe Mixon will NOT be activated by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline. As a result, Mixon will be ineligible to play for at least the next four games. He is sidelined with an ankle injury.
Mixon joined the Texans last offseason and was a key contributor in the 2024 NFL season. He played in 14 games, recording:
Carries: 245
Rushing Yards: 1,016
Touchdowns: 12
Total Touches: 281
Yards from Scrimmage: 1,325
His performance earned him a Pro Bowl selection.

With Mixon sidelined, the Texans’ running back depth chart currently consists of:
Nick Chubb
Dameon Pierce
Dare Ogunbowale
Woody Marks
British Brooks
Jawhar Jordan
This group makes up the available options in Houston’s backfield while Mixon remains out.
